I absolutely loved every moment of this wonderful story! It is such a beautiful story of forgiveness. The faith thread in this story ran so much deeper than a lot of other novellas I've read, and I absolutely loved that, there were so many moments of spiritual truth that spoke to my heart and were exactly what I needed to hear at this point in my life. I was constantly highlighting my kindle copy so that I can read those truths many times in the future! This book truly ministered to my heart while at the same time sweeping me away into a charming and delightful romance! I loved these characters, they both felt very real to me and I was rooting for them from the start, I love it when book characters become like friends to me and that is totally the case with Mia and Caleb! (Plus it was so cool that Mia and I share the same favorite color: Purple!)All the details in this book were amazing, the detailed descriptions of The Manor as well as Nottingham itself made me feel like I was really there!I don't want to risk spoiling anything so I will just say that I loved absolutely everything about this book, and I cannot wait to read more of Toni Shiloh's writing!Highly recommended, but make sure you have an uninterrupted stretch of time set aside to read it, because you won't want to set this one down!
A Life to Live is a quick read—not more than a cozy afternoon on the beach or by the fire. But it will transport the reader to Nottingham, England and the most remarkable bed and breakfast. Then it settles us down in the midst of heartache and longing, and the long shadows cast by old sins. And ultimately the book brings us to the real joy found in a relationship founded and held together by the love of Christ.Toni Shiloh has a smooth, pleasant writing style. She really shines when she writes about the relationships between mother and daughter, father and daughter, brother and brother, and best friends. We root for Mia and Caleb and everyone who loves and supports them. This is my first book of Ms. Shiloh’s and it was so enjoyable!
I have to say this book cover actually called out to me. The tone of the blue background infused with rain made me wonder if this couple really had a once in a lifetime chance. A Life To Live by Toni Shiloh had already set the feeling of this romantic fiction.Shiloh's prologue details the reason behind the title, and explains why Mia is taking a wonderfully planned out vacation, but does it really turn out how it was planned? Placing her trust in God and depending on His help in important decisions, Mia's life takes on amazing twists including secrets that have been hidden for years.I enjoyed the easy flow of this story having enough detail to picture the lovely Mia, her passion for purple and the lush setting of the country side of Britain. A wonderful story encompassing God's grace and forgiveness.

Running into Caleb, the former boyfriend who broke her heart, is the last thing she would've imagined happening. Their chance encounter in England could lead to either more heartbreak or healing in A Life to Live by author Toni Shiloh.This is a lovely, romantic novella about forgiveness, working through grief, and giving and taking second chances.The story feels a little simplistic, repetitive, and not quite believable at times. There are some minor, technical errors throughout the book, along with a good deal of head hopping, switching back and forth between Mia's and Caleb's points of view rather abruptly.But I smiled along the way at key moments, especially on account of Mia's wise and clever mother. Lots of fans of uncomplicated, faith-filled romance can enjoy this quick read.

She did not know at the time how God was moving to bring her life in full circle.While in England she encounters her first love Caleb and there lies the past that she is running from and the past God wants to heal from.The lessons learn is that God will reveal everything in our hearts so that nothing will hinder our relationship with him. I always hear people say that God will not allow you to endure more that you can bear. this story reminds me of how far God is willing to go to bring us closer to him.Readers will love the owners of the B&B, Tori, Christy and Simon. They will appreciate the realness and relatable way these characters will touch you.
This is a sweet romance. It's a light read that you can easily finish in an afternoon. I enjoyed the story.Mia is a young woman who feels deeply and is just coming to terms with the loss of her mother a year earlier. She takes a solo trip and runs into someone she had been avoiding for years.What I enjoyed the most about this book was the way biblical truths were seamlessly weaved in. This is how I try to live my life, incorporating God's truth into every aspect. Yet, not enough Christian books show that. I think in the effort not to be preachy, we often lose ourselves. Toni was true to the Lord and clearly wrote for His honor and glory.
This novella has a beautiful theme of forgiveness. I liked the use of scripture that was used throughout the book. The story line is certainly a familiar one in our day in time. I felt that the pain and hurt from that kind of behavior was well written. The characters were "real" and lovable. I enjoyed the handsome hero's charm! Nottingham, England seemed a strange place for these two people to end up but it worked and I enjoyed learning more about England. It even made me want to go for a visit! I am giving 4 stars. It was a sweet story and well written overall but because it felt rushed, in my opinion. I would recommend this to readers of contemporary, Christian romance.
