This is another excellent historical romance from Ms. Le Veque, as we have come to expect. I eagerly await our next trip with her.
This book has been a roller coaster of intrique, fighting, trust, love, danger and hate. I've been reading Kathryn le Veques books for awhile now and each book is just so good. You just can't stop reading the characters will pull you back in time to their universe, you see many different things happening that are in the past but, you are along for the ride of a lifetime in Kathryn's books.In this book she has the characters, Cullen and Teddy making promises to each other. So much intrigue to which Teddy is made a pawn with not just by her father but by the King and her husband. You get a glimpse of how King John is and how men in those times rules more than women.In the Promise, Cullen is made to consummate the wedding with Teddy he's basically ordered to even though it is not right Which leads to them falling in love, and then there are situations that are put into place, they are separated.This book has brought me so much in loving the medieval times, Kathryn has made those times so interesting not just the characters that you call in love with but the whole families of the characters. You want to see minor characters have a book to, to see them have an HEA. The challenges that each couple faces And the decisions that are made atheist minute have you at the end of your seat. And also to see much loved characters on how they were doing.Each book are so wonderful you just can't stop reading.them and The Promise is just the one to have you hooked.

The love that is felt between the two is palatable.Kathryn Le Veque has created an intense story that has pulled so many emotions out that at times I wanted to cried but then I would have hope and the story would turn again. She is a master wordsmith and historian that takes you into a time and place that seems real with characters that pull at your heart. Do not miss this latest saga that is one of the top stories I have read this year.
Kathryn Le Veque has done it again. This story took us to a whole new level and into places we have not really completely traveled too and she did it with her amazing ability of storytelling that we have all come to love and wait for as each new story comes out and to life within our minds. The words seem to jump off the page and you can't read them fast enough but you don't want to miss anything either. Thank you, Kathryn!You make a promise and that is your word and that means forever. So you make that promise and then you're divided; Cullen believes that Teodora is dead and Teodora thinks Cullen is dead. She leaves behind an elderly grandmother who is blind but Cullen still feels responsible for her and if he couldn't dave Teddy then he sure as hell could take care of Regal in her place.The King is an evil and vile man who takes what he wants from women he finds may they be wife, daughter or child to use and abuse as he shreds not only their bodies but their minds and souls.He tried to do this with Teddy but Cullen came to the rescue only the man he thought he killed has survived and Teddy has been given to the High Justice to do with as he pleases. Only his injuries are still far from healed. The Physic has kept him alive and Teddy is allowed to go out with the army to go after thieves with the Kings Shadow, Sean de Lara, who is also with them.All of this time they have been but a few miles apart and have no knowledge that the other is alive and that they are being kept from fulfilling the promise all because they were told lies.This is a wonderful story and it has all the evil, love and adventure you can only find between the pages of a book written years ago thought to be lost only to be found and brought back to life for us to read and enjoy!Highly recommned this book, actually any book that has the author's nameKathryn Le Veque, the Queen of Medieval and Historical Romances.
