Definitely five stars worthy, as these very descriptive, and always heartwarming adventures, touches any reader's heartstrings with unending emotional connection. Each new book seems to touch me in anew and exciting family-friendly way, as each and every new character adds more colorful western atmosphere as the story develops. Mr. Brandvold's exceptionally outstanding storylines successfully portrays the individual's attitude towards their assigned tasks and their multitude of accomplishments throughout the entire story. I enjoy the significant gunfights, encouraging romance and the compassionate camaraderie of the good guys, while the relationship of the bad guys is somewhat undetermined until the end of the book is very near. Too, in case you are interested, the relationships between the men and ladies can be a little descriptive at times and the language a little off color, but not excessive enough to be too demeaning, or offensive. Definitely recommend this compassionately outstanding masterpiece of our old western folklore adventures too all readers, regardless of your reading preference, but especially to you lovers of endearing western excitement storytelling. Too, I am you will become as attached to Ben Stillman, and his entertaining entourage, as I have been. Most definitely worthy of you time!
I have never been disappointed with any of Peter Brandvold's novels. HIs plots and characters are consistent throughout the series and always interesting and exciting..
This was for my husband, first time he has read Peter Brandvold anhe liked him very much.
This is the another in the series by Peter Brandvoid about a man named Ben Stillman, a former retired U.S. Deputy, a Pinkerston Detective, and now as sheriff in a town called Clantick. Ben has to figure out actually who killed a rancher and not the accused killer that was found over the body. A real page turner that keeps one captive until the last page. I was given an advance copy of this book for my honest review.
Oh to be able to saddle up and ride with Sheriff Ben Stillman. That would totally make my day. In reality this is what I do when I open a book in the Ben Stillman series. The action is real, the storyline is always very exciting and it never disappoints. This is a series that I wish there was a leather bound collection available as I would surely own it. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good western!
Marshall Stillman is wondering if peace will ever be his in this wild Montana town of Clintok. Ranchers losing their ability to make profits, and ability to do the job required in running a ranch. Age, family disputes, underhanded neighbors and friends all add to the mystery of turmoil in Clintok area. Fast easy read that.will keep you involved. I was given a ARC.for a honest review.
Someone has murdered Tom Suthern in Three Witch Valley. The question is just who did it and why? Sheriff Ben Stillman has plenty of suspects in this swift page turner, and there are more twists and turns than an eight second bullride.The story moves at a very quick pace. The action is rather violent, capturing the essence of the old West. Sheriff Stillman is the central figure in this Western mystery. He is trying to figure out just who murdered Suthern, an old rancher with plenty of people out for his property. The suspects range from his deadbeat son to a few of his workers and even his potential son-in-law.As the story moves along, multiple people are shot, double-crossed, swindled, and threatened. It's a pretty good read for anyone who enjoys Westerns. The thing that sets this book apart from others is the mystery in the murder. Honestly, there are a ton of suspects, and this makes for a good story. This story also has a humorous side to it thanks to Doc Evans, who tags along with Stillman through much of the book. The only real gripe I have with this book is that the ending is rather abrupt as far as the murder mystery is concerned.Recommended to lovers of Western novels, but other folks may want to stay away.
This series is a first for a combination western and mystery. You try to figure out who the culprit is all the way through the book and get a little romance with it. I am enjoying this series and looking forward to the next chapter in Ben’s life.
