I purchased this for homeschool use to go with the text book. It has a good balance in the type of questions for each chapter. Because he is in 6th grade, we do the questions orally so I can judge his comprehension, and we can expand discussion in certain areas with critical thinking and logic. As a secular homeschooler, I am looking for material that is accurate and not slanted toward any particular religion, but teaches religion only with respect to how it has shaped various cultures.
These tests/quizzes are a super way to check if your child is understanding what they have been reading. They really help the child to review what they have learned and recall it. My children have enjoyed taking these tests. They are not hard and discouraging, but more encouraging when children can answer the questions and recall facts. For the minimal price, they are a super addition to a fantastic history curriculum!

Love this series and the test questions are an excellent way to see if your child has learned anything. Will definitely be buying the rest of the volumes.
We LOVE Story of the World! My 9 & 6 year old homeschooled children ask for History everyday. We are just 3 weeks into our school year and have completed 7 chapters of history. AND this is our second time through all 4 volumes.

Love the ease of this curriculum. I am able to let the children go at their own pace to read these books. Then I use these tests to check and see if they are "getting it" as well as doing our own timeline to reinforce. It's something simple to have to put in their portfolios at the end of the year!
Our homeschool family used Susan Wise Bauer's The Story of the World history books to study the Ancient Times and enjoyed the format and projects. The kids couldn't wait to get started on this one. This author does a great job of making history exciting and interesting. I would recommend this to anyone.
